The CW has for several years been running successful shows based on DC characters with the focus firmly on Green Arrow, Flash and Supergirl, with the shared multiverse being known as the Arrowverse. After several crossovers between the shows, 2018/19’s Elseworlds crossover introduced the Monitor and ended with a title card saying that in 2019, Crisis on Infinite Earths would arrive.
