My annual review of my comics is underway where I decide whether to keep titles that, potentially, I haven’t looked at in years. As I did last year, I’m going to drop a random panel in on a Saturday.
Here’s the start of the excellent JSA series from the late 90s where they killed off the Jared Stevens version of Fate in just a couple of panels.

I want to say he deserved better than what he got, and he probably did, but then that’s how it goes sometimes.
I bought an issue or two of his series but never maintained interest. Same for the post-ZH Manhunter series. Just couldn’t stay onboard.
Your thoughts on both Jared & Chase?

Like you, I never really cottoned to the Manhunter series – tried a couple of issues but didn’t stick with it. I lasted longer with Fate, though, but maybe only six or seven issues. I did pick the whole run of FATE up on Comixology a few years back when they were on sale for about 30p each (maybe 50 cents?) just so I could read the whole thing. It wasn’t terrible, but neither was it very good.

That’s a pretty fair assessment of the series I’d say, and for most of those post-ZH books. But hey, at least DC was trying new things or repackaging older characters & putting an at the time and era, new coat of paint on them.
Anyone remember Primal Force? That certainly lasted a lot longer than the two series we mentioned.
I guess not all of them could be Starman.
