Martian gravity is weaker than Earth’s which is how John Carter is so strong when on Mars. I think Cannon will be at a disadvantage, though, as it took Carter a while to get used to the effects of the gravity and that delay in Cannon reaching his potential might just be enough for Carter to win out.
