I think I’ve made it clear I’m not a massive fan of the whole DARK NIGHTS: METAL thing that’s somehow still going on – it promised so much, to be a fun and bombastic run through the DCU and just turned into a mess of mad, half-baked ideas thrown into something that has just dragged on and on and on . . .
That said, there have been a few of these TALES FROM THE DARK MULTIVERSE one-shots and I’ve picked up the ones looking at INFINITE CRISIS and BLACKEST NIGHT and they weren’t bad; separated from the crossover/uber-event nonsense, they were sort of Elseworld looks at big events and, if you haven’t guessed by the picture above, DC are now going to look at another couple: WAR OF THE GODS and the granddaddy of them all, CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS.
Yeah, I’ll be picking those up.
Crisis on Earth-Prime 
Yeah, they’re obviously running with how dark and depressing it needs to be for these stories, but they’re just not written out all that well are they?

Yeah IC was actually readable. Interesting to see Ted take the more cerebral approach to his Max problem, yet apparently it all worked out in the end for him. For everyone else? Not so much…
