Yeah, any version before Gail Simone reinvented him is definitely going to come off worse.

Well, Catman and Huntress had a thing there for like five minutes, so it might not go horribly, assuming he can avoid stabbing people.

It started in an arc of Simone’s Birds of Prey, during that stretch when Barda was on the Birds and Harley Quinn was on the Secret Six. Simone made a few nods to it during Secret Six, mostly Helena calling Blake to warn him about something, or to try and get him not to do something. I’m not sure they ever even made out.
