Not aware of a gender swap fad – think this was just a fun excuse to do an Edgar Rice Burroughs type Lost World story with J’onn transformed into a woman!

There was a brief gender swap trend going on around ‘95 that started with Image comics “Babewatch” storyline.

They’re normally the two gold discs that (somehow) attach his cape to his red straps. Exaggerated because it’s the 90s, I guess.
