If the ridiculous conspiracy that inspired Alan Moore’s and Eddie Campbell’s epic retelling of Jack the Ripper were true, this is one scene I’d have no trouble in believing: the unfeeling, unrelenting belief of the crown that “all of them” – the women attempting to blackmail Walter Sickert and through him, the royals – must die. No discussion, no alternative, no chance of any other outcome.
The inability of the ruling class to view the poor as people and individuals is still in evidence, sad to say.

Unfortunately this very true, especially with a certain troublesome political party here in the States. The current situation here is a veritable shitshow that causes endless embarrassment on my end as an American.

I used to be quite interested in America politics, but these last few years have just been so depressing. I really hope that Biden (or a potential replacement) wins in November, for the sake of America.

Likewise I with British politics. I feel like the US isn’t that far away from where you guys are right now after dealing with the Tories for as long as you guys had to & the devastating negative impact their reign in power left on your country.
Huge fan of Jonathan Pie btw. I know he’s meant to be satirical, but it’s always educational to me.

With a bit of luck, the Tories will spend a long time in opposition and Labour will at least have a chance to right some of the wrongs done to the country.
I do worry that the Republicans have become the Trumps – so many “never Trumpers” have hitched up to him in the last few years, just as a way of clinging to power, and I could see him becoming a more ridiculous Kim Jong Il, serving one more term and then installing Don Jr or Lana or another one and actually starting some autocratic dynasty, and “leading” from behind the scenes. I feel for you guys, I really do.
Jonathan Pie – yep, helped keep me sane for many of these last years of Tory government. 😀

Trust me, we do too, at least the sane voters do. Project 2025, if realized, could truly be the end of democracy here & possibly for other countries as well, as the wrong ruling power could use it as a blueprint to enact their own corrupt policies.
As Democrats typically have to clean up the mess left behind by Republicans, so too will the Labour have to clean up after the Torries. It’s an undesirable, thankless job, but it needs doing.
