Cover: In the top right is Pariah, looking down on Green Lantern Hal Jordan in the bottom left. Between them are the ring constructs of the Justice League. Working left to right and top to bottom are the hand and trident of Aquaman; Martian Manhunter; Superman; Hawkgirl; Wonder Woman; Batman; and the Flash.

Variant Covers can be found at the bottom of the page.

Page 1 – Panel 1: This is Red Canary – inspired by Black Canary (not the poster of Canary’s band on the wall) she will become a crimefighter.

Page 1 – Panel 2: The aftermath of the attack on Titans Tower as seen in the previous issue.

Page 1 – Panel 3: As the captions say, people are scared because the Justice League didn’t arrive to stop Deathstroke’s attack on the Tower.

Page 1 – Panel 4: John Constantine has a drink while listening to the news in a bar.

Page 1 – Panel 5: Top to bottom are Count Vertigo; Prometheus; and Sideways. Sideways is a relatively new hero at the time being chased by the villains.

Page 1 – Panel 6: In the middle is Wonder Girl Yara Flor; I’m uncertain if either of the Amazons with her are named characters.

Page 1 – Panel 7: Gorilla Gregg returns to Gorilla City after having quit the Titans in the previous issue.

Page 1 – Panel 8: Bratgirl presumably with her parents.

Page 1 – Panel 9: Red Canary again, this time putting on her mask for the first time.

Page 2 – Panel 1: Beast Boy in a hospital bed with Nightwing beside him. Beast Boy was shot in the head at the end of the first issue, though he has survived.

Page 2 – Panel 2: The caption refers to Mr Terrific of the Justice Society, and Garfield – Beast Boy’s real name. The flowers have a card from “Niles, Rita, Cliff & Larry” who are the Chief, Elasti-Girl, Robotman, and Negative Man of the Doom Patrol respectively. Elasti-Girl was Beast Boy’s adopted mother.

Page 2 – Panel 4: The captions are revealed as being spoken by Donna Troy.

Page 3 – Panel 1

Page 3 – Panel 1: The assembled heroes wait outside Beast Boy’s hospital room. Left to right are Barbara Gordon (both Batgirl and Oracle); Starfire; the Signal; Raven; Arsenal; Red Hood; Batgirl (Stephanie Brown); Donna Troy; Batgirl (Cassandra Cain); and the leg of Cyborg.

Page 3 – Panel 3: Red Hood says they will find Lian – this is Lian Harper, Arsenal’s daughter who was revealed to be alive in INFINITE FRONTIER #5.

Page 3 – Panel 4: Cassandra reveals that Young Justice is missing, as detailed in Crossovers Part 1.

Page 3 – Panel 5: Damian Wayne is the current Robin.

Page 3 – Panel 5: Cyborg refers to Black Adam taking command of the nascent Justice League at the end of the previous issue.

Pages 4 and 5: Credits for this issue.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 1: And here is Black Adam, putting his students through their paces in different locations.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 2: Top to bottom are Goldface attacking Blue Beetle (Jaime Reyes); Typhoon; Aqualad; and Silver Banshee.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 3: Atop the Daily Planet building are Supergirl; Felix Faust; Frankenstein; Shadow Thief; and Skorpio.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 4: Black Adam; Count Vertigo; Shaggy Man; and Dr Light.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 5: Harley Quinn; and Killer Frost.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 6: Crazy Quilt; Booster Gold; the Key; Blue Beetle (Ted Kord); and Raptor.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 7: Multiplex; Superman (Jon Kent); Robin (Damian Wayne); Warp; Dr Phosphorus; and another Multiplex.

Pages 6 and 7 – Panel 8: The map details a number of attacks. Khandaq is the country ruled by Black Adam; Terrifics Island is home to the Terrifics team; Hall of Justice is the headquarters of the Justice League; Metropolis is home to Superman; and Corto Maltese is an island off South America that originally appeared in Frank Miller’s THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.

Page 8 – Panel 1: Black Adam holds Count Vertigo by the throat, claiming that unless the heroes change their “no killing” stance, Deathstroke will win.

Page 8 – Panel 2: Left to right are a silhouette (I’m guessing Killer Frost based on the gloves); Frankenstein; Blue Beetle (Jaime); Robin (Damian); Supergirl; Superman (Jon); Count Vertigo; Black Adam; Dr Light; Booster Gold; Blue Beetle (Ted); and Aqualad.

Page 8 – Panels 3 and 4: Robin lays out Deathstroke’s plan and why he’s using the low-level villains as cannon fodder: because he knows the heroes won’t kill them.

Page 9 – Panel 6

Page 9 – Panel 1: Adam believes killing Vertigo and other villains will send a warning to Deathstroke.

Page 9 – Panel 3: With a flash of heat vision, Superman convinces Adam to stop.

Page 9 – Panel 4: Aqualad and Dr Light try to be the voice of calm, and a reason to leave respectively.

Page 9 – Panel 5: Blue Beetle thinks Green Lantern Hal Jordan and Wally West (Flash) will find the Justice League.

Page 9 – Panel 6: That’s rage fuelled by fear on Adam’s face as he claims the League are dead following the attack of Pariah’s Dark Army as shown in JUSTICE LEAGUE #75.

Page 9 – Panels 7 and 8: Adam claims that the young heroes must accept the killing of their foes.

Page 10 – Panels 1 and 2: But Adam is stopped by Wonder Girl Yara Flor arriving and pulling his hand away with her lasso.

Page 10 – Panel 4: Wonder Girl stands up to Black Adam.

Page 10 – Panel 5: Which is the last straw and he leaves, casting his cape aside.

Page 10 – Panel 6: And just like that, the League dissolves. Blue Beetle’s comment about his League laughing more, is a reference to his time in the Justice League International.

Page 11 – Panels 1 to 3: Wonder Girl had rejected Superman’s offer to join back in DARK CRISIS #1 but has changed her mind following the attack on Titans Tower. However, Robin claims the League is over.

Page 11 – Panels 4 to 6: Robin thinks things are going to get even worse.

Page 12

Page 12: Arriving to lend a hand are the Justice Society. Left to right, top to bottom, are Hawkgirl; Cyclone; Hawkman; Power Girl; Wildcat (Yolanda Montez); Jade; Green Lantern Alan Scott; Obsidian; Dr Fate; Dr Mid-Nite; Jakeem Thunder; Mr Terrific; Wildcat (Ted Grant); Atom Smasher; and Hourman.

Page 13 – Panels 1 and 2: The white on black speech bubbles are from the Great Darkness who is urging Deathstroke to create a crisis. That crisis will allow Pariah to arrive with his Dark Army.

Page 13 – Panel 3: Deathstroke’s troops have caught an interloper. Right to left are Phobia; Prometheus; Ravager; Shrapnel; and Toyman.

Page 14 – Panel 1: Ravager, Deathstroke’s daughter and sometime villain, sometime Teen Titan.

Page 14 – Panel 2: Deathstroke mentions Adeline (his ex-wife), Wintergreen (his ex-associate), and Joseph (his son, the hero Jericho, also an ex-Teen Titan)

Page 14 – Panel 5: Respawn was Deathstroke’s cloned son who, as the caption box mentions, was murdered. Deathstroke’s motive has long been preventing young heroes becoming the next generation.

Page 15 – Panel 1: Note the dark tears running down Deathstroke’s face.

Page 15 – Panel 2: Ravager and Deathstroke’s relationship is complicated and you can see here that she does still care for him.

Page 15 – Panel 3: “The Darkness” is speaking to Deathstroke.

Page 15 – Panel 4: And Ravager turns down his offer.

Page 15 – Panels 5 and 6: The same villains from before rush to Deathstroke’s aid . . .

Page 16 – Panel 1

Page 16 – Panel 1: . . . and promptly regret it as he vomits up the Darkness that’s been possessing him.

Page 16 – Panel 3: The villains are possessed by the Darkness.

Page 16 – Panel 4: Though Ravager’s fate is uncertain at the moment.

Page 17 – Panel 1: The Green Lantern Corps arrive at Ryut, home of the Black Lanterns.

Page 17 – Panel 2: The Corps find the newly restored Black Central Power Battery. As Hal says, Nekron’s possessed form is part of Pariah’s Dark Army that fought against Black Adam and the Justice League. The image below is numbered with the key beneath it; click to see a larger version.

Page 17 – Panel 3: Ever the hero, Hal Jordan plans to use the Black Lantern to find Pariah on his own. In the background, above Jessica Cruz, is B’dg.

Page 17 – Panel 4: Kyle Rayner was rescued by Hal and Jo Mullein at the end of the previous issue.

Page 17 – Panel 5: Guy Gardner in the centre, with Simon Baz in the bottom right.

Page 19 – Panel 1

Page 18: Hal, Kyle, and Jo tumble through the Black Lantern to be greeted by . . .

Page 19 – Panel 1: . . . Pariah, who claims to be fearless like Hal Jordan. Behind him is the machine he was using in DARK CRISIS #1.

Page 19 – Panel 3: The globes floating over the machine show the symbols of (left to right) Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Batman, and Superman. Pariah says the heroes are worlds unto themselves.

Page 19 – Panel 4: Pariah mentions what Jordan did to get Coast City back, or as we remember them, the events of ZERO HOUR. Jordan’s claim that it wasn’t him rests of the revelation (or ret-con) that at the time he was possessed by the Fear Entity, Parallax.

Page 19 – Panel 5: Again, Pariah mentions his need for a crisis to bring his Dark Army to Earth, and claims to be controlling the Great Darkness.

Page 19 – Panels 6 and 7: A claim Jordan scoffs at, which angers Pariah.

Pages 20 and 21 – Panel 1: Hal sends ring constructs of the League at Pariah. Left to right are Aquaman, Superman, Hawkgirl, Flash, Wonder Woman, and Batman.

Pages 20 and 21 – Panel 2: The two other people who wore the armor similar to Pariah were the Anti-Monitor in CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS and Superboy-Prime in INFINITE CRISIS. However, Jordan wasn’t a Green Lantern during Crisis (he’d quit prior to that to settle down with Carol Ferris) so he’s probably referring to the Anti-Monitor’s appearance during BLACKEST NIGHT.

Pages 20 and 21 – Panel 4: What is it with villains wanting to build better versions at any cost?

Pages 20 and 21 – Panel 7: As Kyle and Jo strike at Pariah, Jordan dives for the world with the Green Lantern symbol.

Page 22 – Panel 2: An act which gives Pariah pause.

Page 22 – Panels 3 and 4: Jordan somehow divines that the Great Darkness is working against Pariah and that the Justice League are to be used as weapons instead of restoring a multiverse.

Page 24 – Panel 3

Page 23: Hal Jordan appears to die and be rebuilt – the disintegrating over multiples panels was used to show the death of the Flash in CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS #8 as well as the apparent deaths of the League in JUSTICE LEAGUE #75, the prelude to DARK CRISIS. Unlike those instances, however, here we see Jordan recreated though without his power ring.

Page 24 – Panel 1: Jordan appears to be on a world made by the Green Lantern Corps.

Page 24 – Panel 2: And a massive sword smacks into the ground beside him.

Page 24 – Panel 3: Left to right are this world’s versions of Jason Todd, Kyle Rayner, and Natasha Irons as Green Lanterns who patrol “Sector John Stewart.

Page 25 – Panels 2 to 4: Elsewhere, we catch up with Black Adam who has approached someone else.

Page 25 – Panel 5: A recap of the end of JUSTICE LEAGUE#75 with Pariah disintegrating Wonder Woman, Superman, and Batman.

Page 25 – Panel 6: Black Adam realises hope has failed and so it is time for . . .

Page 26: . . . doom! Specifically, Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom. Left to right at the back are Cheetah; Golden Glider; Weather Wizard; and Sinestro. In the mid-ground are Captain Cold; Captain Boomerang; Heatwave; Scarecrow; and Gorilla Grodd. In the foreground are Black Manta; Punchline; Lex Luthor, and Vandal Savage.

Variant Covers – due to the number of different covers, I’ve added them here so they don’t interfere with the main text.
